Looking for hood lock part

I own a 2009 Damon Challenger. I noticed that I am missing a part on of the hood locks.

Are parts as easily available as on cars and passenger trucks? The hood is secure with just one side locked but it would good to get the other side working.

Absolutely not. Many folks look for weeks to find the part they need and then find out, due to COVID, that the required part is backordered with no estimated delivery date.

Good luck in the search.

What are you missing? It may be a lock that was repurposed into an RV part and available from sources outside of the RV world.

Suggest you start calling your local RV dealers and ask their parts manager. Have a picture of the other lock to send them, from both in and out,. There's a chance they might be able to find something that works. I would replace the other one at the same time, or at least have a spare.
Report back on how you resolve this.

What Dave said is pretty well spot on. Most auto parts stores can get you what you need to keep a car or pick up on the road. RV's we are pretty much stuck ordering parts from a dealer or if your lucky a site like E-trailer. There are also several RV recycle yards out there that you can google for used parts. The hood latches on a class A I woul think might be available through one of them.

I have a few parts catalogs from 3 different RV dealers and all of them have some hood latch parts as well as barrel locks using round keys. Many of the hood latch parts are made by JR Products.

If a picture of what's needed was posted it might help to provide some further assistance.

Hello,
This is not a reply, but instead looking for recommendation either on a replacement hood latch for a 2018 Thor Vegas 25.3 or how to adjust the interior steel part of the latch to grab and lock in place in the slot. Note, I have already extended the the washers as far as they coud go . That did not work, and it compromises the nut to potentially work itself off due to driving vibrations. Help:-) Thanks, have a great day.

Dee
