Looking at new tires...
I have started shopping for new tires. The tires on our 2019 Hurricane will be 5 years old this year and have over 19k miles on them. The rig is stored inside a garage without sunlight beating on them every day. I keep the levelers down to remove some of the strain on the suspension and tires. They show no signs at all of any dry rot. I may be able to get another 2 or 3 years out of them, but I thought I should start shopping anyways. I found a place called Motorhome Tires .com. They have a decent price on some Toyo and Hankook tires, and their prices include free mobile installation. I have used those brands on our daily drivers in the past, but I don't know a thing about them for motorhome application.
Interested if anyone has had any experience with Motorhome Tires or those tire brands on your rig. TIA

Why would you consider a brand change if you're happy with the brand you have now?

Motorhome Tires does not carry the brand that is OEM on the rig. I have not yet checked with the nearby Ford dealer who services motorhomes in this area. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with that supplier or those tire brands.

I've had Sumitomos (ST-719) on my coach for three years. They are available from Walmart. Some Walmarts will install them; it depends on the manager and the tire mounting machine.

Thanks for that info. It never occurred to me that WalMart might be able to mount MH tires.

My hankooks started feathering, all 6 of them, at 38,000 miles. Perfect at 33,000 but ruined at 38,000.
I had them replaced at some jerkwater town in some state on our last 5,000 mile trip because they are getting worse by the day.

Yes. Along our last trip I noticed slight feathering in the front two(perfectly matched on each) and it became double the next 1,000 then worrisome the next, and by the 4th 1,000 miles the rears were going also.
I could have put another few thousand on them, but to no end. I'm old enough that I don't plant trees with any expectation of fruit, so tires then or three years from now carried no differentiation in eventual cost.
And
Not cupping.
They were feathering.
I used the wrong terminology.

I replaced the GoodYear OEM tires that were ten years old with Toyo's just after we got it. Sumitomos are great and so are several others. I went with Toyo tires because a friend has them. He had just replaced the previous Toyo set, 38k miles and eleven years old. The Toyo tires has the best price at the time. I refuse to go over seven years on the diesel pusher.

Thanks for that info. If I don't start seeing any dry rot this year I may stretch it out another year on these tires. That'll make them 6 years old when replaced. I don't think I would try 10 or 11 years.

We just replaced ours 2 weeks ago.
The Continentals were dated 2016 and had no signs of issues last year so was going to replace the steers this spring.
Went out to confirm sizes and noticed the backs had small sidewall cracks so plans changed.
Was going to go with Toyo's because I have them on my truck and work well.
A friend runs my local Ford dealership and recommended BFG due to Ford program and using on current larger F superduties.
They are on now and will see how they work out.
They look good, american made and 5 yr warrantee.

I installed Cooper mud and snow because no one in that little river town had the 3peak at3 toyo allterrain.
At3 at two sizes bigger than stock are going on to the pacifica(a compromise from cutting out the wheel wells on a new Pac limited. But next set...33's and flares.)

Does anyone do, or have, their tires rotated?
We're in a class C Outlaw 29J with newer Michelin tires right now.
I plan to rotate ours myself, at 10K intervals, that's what I do on our other vehicles. Some folks may recommend every 5K miles, but it is a big chore and I have had good results at 10K on my other 4 wheelers (pickup and cars).
RV has dual rears.
My plan is:
On the right side;
Right front to outside rear.
Outside rear to inside rear.
Inside rear to the right side front.
Swapping valve stem extensions as needed.
conversely
On the left side;
Left front to outside rear.
Outside rear to inside rear.
Inside rear to the left side front.
Swapping valve stem extensions again as needed.
I also carry a spare. I would incorporate that into a rotation, but since it is a different brand, not doing that. I fabricated a tire carrier that fits behind the rear axle up between the frame. I keep the air pressure checked and to spec occasionally. It is a little difficult getting it out, but it was a savior once! I keep a pair of coveralls and tools needed with me, lol.

No benefit of rotation unless you have a wear issue. Most will install new tires on the steer axle and move those to the rear, unless there are issues with the steer tires to begin with, then they are sold for trailer use. Speaking of 22.5 tires not HD pickup tires like the 19.5's

What is the Ford program with the BFG tires?

They sell tires they place on Ford vehicles for $10.00 over cost to them.
I also rec'd a $60.00 BFG rebate card for the purchase.

Tires
I had tires five years old starting to wear on front driver side and I am a freak about tires and brakes. I priced various tires, copper, Goodyear, and an off brand. My tire guy said in AZ tires need to be replaced after 5 years. I decided to have them put on the same Goodyears tires that it had on and price wasn’t the highest or lowest but they held up so stuck with same exact brand.

If it is just the drivers side, look at getting a front end alignment ASAP after the new tires.
