Loose wires cause fires

My 2023 Thor Palazzo (still under warranty) developed a problem. I had an electrician install a 30 amp hookup at my home so I could keep the residential refrigerator running while the coach is at home as well as an a/c to keep the inside temp under 85.
The shore power install failed. I stopped getting power in the coach. I started my investigation. Breakers all good, power at my home connection was good. Cable was good, power going into the coach was good. I assumed the transfer switch failed, so ordered a new one. Before installing the switch, I verified that the generator was working, it's working fine as well as all my 110 volt items in the coach. With the generator running, I check the feed side of the transfer switch. Generator was 122 volts, shore power side was 56 volts. I removed the external shore power plug on the side of the coach to see if everything was properly attached as I have 122 volts at the end of my power cord. Because of the heavy duty wire used, I could not pull the shore power plug off the side of the coach, so I just screwed it back in. I went back inside and checked the shore power side and found 122 volts (was 56) after doing nothing more than pulling the plug off the side of the coach and reattaching. I opened the bottom of the night stand that gave me access to the internal shore power wire, which I could move in order to remove completely the connector on the side of the coach. When I finally got to see the connections, I found that the white wire connector, which should have been torqued properly, was stripped and the connector screw was just spinning, and fell out. Whoever installed this screw and wire knew they stripped or cross threaded the screw and left it loose. This is a huge issue. That loose connection, could have burned my coach to the ground with my wife and I in it. I'm waiting for the dealership to "see" if they can get me a new plug for the side of my coach so that I can properly install it. Even though my coach is still under warranty, I do all the work required myself. I don't trust the local dealership in Merrimack New Hampshire to do anything.

It is a good thing you were able to locate that bad connection in time before anything else happened.
