Low Voltage Inverter

I have a 2018 Thor Palazzo with a 2000w magnum inverter. I've noticed that the voltage input as reflected on the inside firefly control panel display bounces around 88 90 volts. Should be around 110v I'm assuming. I am not getting a fault but while traveling in hot weather and powering both AC's the breaker on the generator tripped and power to the AC units severed. My firefly control panel was hot to the touch.

Much earlier, While having another issue serviced by a mobile mechanic he asked if my inverter was working properly. At the time i assumed so. He said he was seeing inverters not operating properly when hooked to solar. I don't know if there is a correlation but now that i'm see a potential issue i'm wondering if anyone has experienced the same issue and if so came across a solution.

Admittedly, the mechanics behind batteries, solar power chargers, managers and inverters are all outside my area of expertise. Like... WAY far outside my expertise. If you are nice enough to respond please do so in layman terms.

Your inverter output should be 120 VAC; anything between 110 VAC and 130 VAC is OK; 88 to 90 VAC is NOT OK by a large margin.

Your Inverter should not have been supplying any power when your generator was running and powering the A/C units.

I don't see how solar connected to your batteries would cause an inverter to not operate properly. The inverter takes the power from the batteries regardless of any solar input.

right, you have to clarify what you mean by 'low voltage', since the Inverter is NOT powering your Air Conditioners, Water Heater, or anything other than OUTLETS. Only your GENERATOR is putting out power to your large draw appliances, and even all the OUTLETS when it is running.
The only time your Inverter is 'working' is when it is the ONLY power source.

no, Solar incoming power has nothing to do with your Inverter. It is simply charging your battery bank. Don't worry about what some people 'say' - they may mean well, but many times they actually are just passing along 'other' things they've 'heard'... none based in actual facts.

former Palazzo owner - 110,000 miles, and solar, too
