Roof-Mount A/C Unit Schematic

I accidentally hit the cool setting tonight and hear a thump, thump zzzzz, coming out of the A/C fan. To me it sounds like something worked it's way into the A/C unit.

I work the fan on/off a couple of times and the thump, thump turns to scrape, scrape. If it was a rodent, we've given it a haircut - #3 buzz to be exact. But no smell.

I want to jump on the roof tomorrow and pull the A/C cover only I want to have a roadmap before I get bold. I want to know where the fan is in advance.

Anyone have an IPB of the roof A/C unit, showing the location of the fan?

There are a number of different RV roof AC's. Bryant has service manuals for most. Service Documents and Manuals

Take the cover off. The fan locations will be obvious.

Did it sound like the fan on the inside of the RV? Take the cover off from the inside (only 6 screws hold mine on) and you can see the squirrel cage fan. Otherwise only 4 screws hold on the outside cover (But you might see a live squirrel so be careful!).

Or could be Santa elf caught in the fan since you didnt have a fireplace? Ho Ho Ho. LOL.

Thank you for feedback/suggestions (and humor). Will check it out later today. 4 bolts on top are sealed (like caulked). Will tackle inside first and breaks seals 'in case of emergency'.
