Magnetic Door Switch for Steps

There is a loose connection on the magnet door switch to operate my steps on my 2008 Windsport 36R. I have the replacement switch and magnets that mount on the door frame and the door but I am struggling to understand how the wiring works.

There are two grey wires that go out of the magnet that mounts on the door frame and when I look underneath, I don't see those two wires anywhere, even though there are two wires that seem to be in that exact spot, they are different colours.

I opened up the panel where to switch is and there are two grey wires there but they appear to be a thicker gauge and my basic understanding of wiring tells me that both wires would not go there, maybe one but I am guessing not.

Does anyone know where to two wires lead to from the magnet that is mounted inside the coach?

I found out why the wires are different, looks like the magnet had been replaced before and they had just butt joined the new switch to the wires that I see underneath and then tucked the wiring behind the carpet

I will just do the same
