Vegas/Axis Cabinet Door Anchors

I have a 2019 Thor Vegas with the Euro style cabinet doors. The composite wood is simply too weak to hold the anchors at the Euro style hinges.

Recently, I have had the anchors on two hinges pull out of the cabinet doors. My intention is to embed screw-in style anchors in epoxy and re-attatch. Last thought is to put small stove bolts all the way through the door-but i really dislike the thought of doing that.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you repair it?

Yes I had two doors that fell off while driving on our beautiful road. The dealer fixed them apparently. But they fell off again. So far I just don’t know how to fixe them. Might just replace all doors with normal wood doors.

Jean Marc:
I decided to completely remove the doors over the sofa in order to repair them properly. Both had the anchors pull out of the wood where the door attaches to the hinge.
I bought screw-in style anchors, cut them shorter to fit, and embedded them in the wood using a two part epoxy (JWeld). Then, for extra stength, I attached a 3/4" by 4" mending plate across the face pf the hinges. It is visible only from the inside.
It is imprtant to use screws that will not go all the way through the door. I used 5/8" on the hinges and 3/4" on the mending plate. All seems very solid now.
Incidentally, you have a beautiful Province! At this time last year, my wife and I celebrated our 50th anniversary at Manoir Hovey, then travelled throughout Provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and PEI-all by car, not RV. We finished in Montreal. It was a memorable trip!
