Magnum Energy remote -re-wiring question
I have a 2014 Tuscany XTE 36MQ. The Magnum Energy remote panel (ME-RC) recently stopped working, no lights, dark display and no messages. I tried removing the phone style cable from the back for a few minutes. No luck. I also tried removing the cable at the inverter for a few minutes, also no luck. After talking with Magnum Energy support, I decided to replace the ME-RC remote.
The new ME-RC panel arrived and when I plugged it in, it boots up, but then shows no inverter communication. I tried plugging it in directly to the inverter with another cable and it works perfectly. It looks like I may have a bad 50 foot cable connecting the inverter and the remote.
Has anyone tried replacing that cable themselves? I do not know where to begin to route the cable from the front cabinet in the coach to the back compartment where the inverter is located. I am also wondering if I should try replacing the connectors on each end of the phone cable before attempting to replace the whole cable.
I would like to avoid taking the coach in for service as my experience with several local (Richmond, Va) RV repair shops has been pretty bad. Any thoughts on how I should proceed?
