Slide out support stabilizers

We have the ACE 30.2 with the full side slide out. We are getting a slight degree of tilt after putting out the slide out. We are considering the slide out support stabilizers. I would appreciate any opinions about them.
Thanks.
Neil

Have you considered resetting the zero point (level) for the jacks to compensate for the tilt when the slide is out? I would try that first before investing in slide stabilizers. I have seen slide stabilizers in use at campground but they were always on travel trailers.

Setting the zero point is not going to solve your issue. It is commonly dragged out by THOR as an excuse for their poorly designed and engineered systems. Trying to get the buggy Lippert software to perform as designed is another challenge.

You bought a poorly designed, engineered, and built RV. Selling it on, and realizing their are no well built ones, is the key. They will never work like you want them to.

No experience, but would hesitate using them.

I've always wondered about placing jacks under slides. What would happen if motorhome shifted or dropped down slightly but the jacks would not allow the slide to drop an equal amount? Damage could be severe.

Even if that didn't happen, it would be a pain to distribute the upward force on a modern lightweight slide room without damaging the structure.

I've looked at slides from an engineering perspective, and there doesn't appear to be a lot of room in the rack-and-pinion drives (or whatever they call them) for vertical misalignment. Any unintended lifting of the slide could cause damage.

The way they are built, the slide room should essentially stay parallel to the motorhome unless something is wrong. If the slide is tilting relative to motorhome, I'd find out why. And if the entire motorhome is tilting, I wouldn't want to level it by lifting on the slide.

We have a 29.3 and that slight angle probably saved us one night.

It acted as a water drain, thankfully. We left the RV and dogs for a few hours. Upon return and opening the door, water was seen rushing across the floor toward the low point under the full slide. Somehow, the shower faucet was turned on (believe shampoo bottle fell and hit handle), grey tank filled and the shower overflowed. Thankfully there was a slight angle for the water to drain out of the RV. After a few wet towels, all was well.

Now I shut off park supply if we leave for any period of time.

First level the coach and then let out your slide. After extending the slide, manually level the low points. After doing that then reset the zero point per the instructions for your leveling system.
