Slideout Topper "Popping"

The topper/awning on my slideout is making a loud popping noise when opening/closing. I initially thought it was my slideout motor making the popping noise, but discovered it to be the slideout topper/awning. As it opens/closes the awning loses tension and gets slack and then suddenly snaps tight again making a loud popping noise.

I had the awning material replaced last February under warranty, do you think that maybe it was not re-assembled correctly? Is this something I can correct or will I have to take it to RV repair shop? When I showed video to the rv shop, the tech said it looked like the spring had worn. I tried to attach video of the issue but unable to do so. I did attach a link to the video of what the slide topper is doing, hopefully it works.

I'm guessing that it retract to a point normally then hang up... retracts normally.. and hangs up again.... etc. is an indication that there is a spot on one end of the drum that is hangin up for some reason.

Could have been damaged when they replaced the fabric or something is out of alignment. I would pull off the end covers and take a look in there to see if you can find anything that looks obvious.
