Microwave on Genset?

Is the Microwave supposed to work on the Generator Power? I realized today that I have yet to actually use the microwave or even see it on. We have actually not traveled yet. Sending unit in for Warranty repairs tomorrow and want to include this. Thanks for any feedback.
Ralph

Yes, it is supposed to work. Are you on at least 30 Amps circuit? Does the time readout illuminate when the gen is started and power transfers? What is your load?

We just got our 30.2 a month ago. Had items break on the way home. So I scheduled repairs for tomorrow. We brought the unit home today to go completely through it. Started the Generator to get things tested.

We found only 1 AC unit that won't run, the Microwave has not digital readout and doesn't work and 6 power outlets that have not power. We checked fuses and breakers and all is good.

We have actually never seen the Microwave run. We have not been hooked up to shore power yet.

Genset hours run comes on, TV's work and all lights work. Fridge switches to power from propane when genes is turned on.

Look for a GFC in the coach. Mine only has one. Sounds like a circuit issue.

The only GFCI is in the bathroom and it has not power, trip and reset will not work making me think no power available to it.

I'd start with the breaker panel and reset everything. Disconnect power first. Then look for high voltage breakers near batteries and under hood. They have little red or yellow levers on them - about 1 inch square....

also look ON the generator itself, it's breaker may have tripped... if so, the generator running will only use fuel and not provide any power, or charging to the batteries...

We are talking 110v from the generator - so store/use switch has nothing to do with it (that only affects the 12v side of things... including fridge control panel which he said works.)

Breaker on the generator may be an issue as TurnerFam posted - one leg coming out may have tripped disabling half...
If not...

The microwave should work on generator power. If the circuit breaker is ON - sounds like an issue to report... (Had an issue with mine on delivery as well - had to be replaced.)

The microwave would not normally be on the GFCI circuit either (typically in the bathroom but controls outlets 'downstream' electrically - those by the kitchen sink and outside.) But no power to the GFCI is an issue.
Since you are taking it in for warranty work - add it to the list...

If as you said some things work and others don't there is an issue with one or more breakers in the panel or the circuit itself.

You said the refrig switches from LPG to elec when the gen is running so power is getting to the coach. The same holds true for the TVs unless they are running off 12V and an inverter. The interior lights will be 12V so they are running off the house batteries.

If you haven't done so contact Thor and ask them for the 120V electrical diagram for you coach.

Thanks all for feedback. Taking the unit in for Warranty Repairs this morning. I did just check the guest breakers and neither are tripped. Maybe on is bad.

If you have a 5500 generator you have two breakers on the generator itself. One runs the rear AC and some of the plugins. The other runs everything else.

I did see and check those two this morning before turning in to shop for repairs. I turned them off then back on one nothing.

Seems to me should be something simple and straight forward.
