Dometic Skylight leaking w/ pictures

Water is coming in through the hinges. Dealer added a bunch of sealant, leaking again after first rain.
Suggestions?

wicking?

The water appears to be wicking though the cracks in the "putty". A vertical crack will allow water to come through due to gravity's effect.
I think that all of the existing putty should be removed and caulked with a superior caulking compound like GE's 50 year kitchen sink caulk.
You might also attach a water dam behind the hinge if the roof is allowing water to run down to the hinge area on the roof. Park the vehicle to minimize the roof's levelness issue.

Water isn't wicking, it flows. I poured water from a bottle onto the hinges and it immediately streamed into the coach.

Same leak on my Skylight. (Though not as drastic) Dealer used NuFlex 311 sealant to seal skylight trim to fiberglass roof. Coated the perimeter of the skylight and especially the hinges. It flows easily into the cracks. Going on 2 1/2 years with no repeat. May have to remove the previous caulk, it's looks cracked..

The only way I know to fix a leaking skylight is to remove all caulking and the skylight and start the caulking process all over.

For hinged vents the only fix I have found is to use something like a max air vent cover. It will still leak under some conditions if the vent is open.

I've been reading more and more about this skylight and it seems the best option is to remove and reinstall. There are two missing metal clamps that hold the skylight to the sub frame along with a cracked board. I don't think that contributed to the leak, they just didn't use enough sealant. Thor workmanship throughout our 24ST is pretty bad.

Thor will be getting an ear full from me on Tuesday. Not that they give a flying flip. I just don't understand their quality control. It's a good thing I'm handy with tools. Taking an RV to a dealer for warranty repairs is a death sentence. Unless its major mechanical, I'll fix it my self which probably falls right into Thor's business plan.

I found these pubs on the skylight, they may help. I did not have to remove mine to seal around the sides and over the hinges.
