Re-Winterize '19 28Z

Good Day All! We had occasion to camp last weekend, so I flipped all the valves. Added fresh water & went camping in 5C weather! Back home again with slightly better temperatures. The 4' hose which is tee'd into the water pump has a crimped female end that will not fit into the Antifreeze jug. Any thoughts on what this end is, that I might buy a Male fitting to barb another hose into the jug for antifreeze draw? The Male plug in use has a rubber seal on its nose, so it is not pipe thread. Thanks in advance! Dale

Usually there is a three way valve which forms the tee at the suction of the pump. If so, just cut the offending fitting off and put the bare end in an antifreeze jug. With 4' of hose, you won't ever need that fitting.

So you have a male and female connector with no threads?.......maybe some kind of quick connect? A picture might help. If I understand your description ....cutting off the female connector on the 4” hose as suggested would work to get your antifreeze into the pump/system......but then you have to seal the now open Winterizing hose end (assuming a simple system is what you have). A barb hose fitting to 1/2” male adapter with a matching plastic threaded cap would work to seal your winterizing hose when you are done.

I was going to suggest something like the link below......but if you go to any local RV Dealer you should be able to find fittings that will resolve your issue. In Alberta, Fraser Way used to have various 1/2” RV plumbing fittings in parts drawers for retail customers to pick through as an example.

My 2019 28Z does not have a 4 foot line. It does have a teed off line that come up vertical above the pump with a male plug. I adapted a threaded couple into it and used my own hose. Would like to see some photos if possible though.

Here is a cheaper more readily available version of the fitting.
