Motor home as a guest room

So,I bought a carport (20×41) to cover my baby in the driveway,I have a 30 amp hookup and water and am using my rv as an extra room when I'm not camping. So it sits like that for weeks at a time. Should I leave the slide in or out? Will it tend to sag more in out position? Jacks up or down? Vents open for ventilation or closed for moisture control? Nashville area, windsport 34f. The carport protects whole rv even when slide is open.thx

I would leave the slide out extended and the jacks down. Sagging shouldn't be a problem. Vents open or closed, either way should be fine. My personal preference would be to leave the vents closed when unoccupied, and use a moisture absorber product if you have moisture.Others will tell you they prefer to leave them open.

No right or wrong answers here but my vote is close it up. Less chance of critters and bugs getting in. Down here, we have humidity, lady bugs and stink bugs that find their way in the smallest cracks. At least with the slides in...the outer perimeter seals will protect it better. I'm also a huge believer in leaving the A/C on but at a higher temp than normal...like 78-80. Keeps the humidity out. Maybe it will wear out sooner...who cares. It's a cheap fix to replace a roof top A/C than it is to have a mold or mildew issue throughout the coach. Also, sprinkle "bug killer stuff" of choice around tires and keep a couple beads of petroleum jelly or so on your power cord. Ants love those cords.

close it up, leave a few windows/vents cracked, and let it just sit on it's tires if you're not coming and going - but let everything out and put down the levelers if you use it for storage or company periodically... the coach itself really doesn't care one way or the other.

My Vegas sits plugged in whenever sitting at either South Florida house or Central Florida house. Been doing this 2 years now. I leave A/C on 82 when not occupied. I also leave slide out at times but the seals are good. I check/lube seals and rollers underneath frequently.

I have not had real bug issues but will bomb periodically and spray RV same as house. At South house it gets lots of sun, Central Florida house is covered by high canopy oaks.

Even with A/C at 82 in summer, is nice to come into dry air for a cold drink.

I only crack roof vent if occupied. Otherwise is always sealed.

Amazing how much dust accumulates when it sits for 2 weeks without activity.

Our Challenger sits in the backyard under cover hooked up to 50 amp service, slides out, jacks down , a/c set at 85 when we're not in it. Forget guest room, we stay in it when we have company and give them the house. [emoji16]

Is also great escape spot. Have bluray, PS4 and pad within house wifi range. Also great for afternoon naps.

I suppose if it’s all hooked up you could just get you one of those portable dehumidifiers and sit it on the kitchen counter and drain into the sink. We use one in ours at times and the amount of water it wrings out of the air is amazing.

It might be less wear on you a/c but, it will push out warm air so that might be a problem? Probably couldn’t run it while you’re inside the MH.

Ours, while stored in its garage, is on its wheels with the slides in, and plugged in. Pad is very close to level. There should, however be no problem leaving the jacks down and slides out, for an extended period of time. They are designed for that, I just don't need the access.

Ours is plugged into 110. Levelers down, and slide extended...

Ours is outside in the elements, at a storage yard, battery disconnects off, not plugged in and lonely.

Have our coach on the concrete pad in back yard. (FHU)
Have used it as a guest house on several occasions, no issues other than an iron clad rule that no pets, children or young adults are tolerated

That term "young adults" is very subjective!!
