Motorhome leveling
We just bought our first Class C Motorhome last January and have had it out 4 times this summer for 3-4 days at a time. Every place we have been has been level enough that we didn't notice anything so have not bothered to get levelers. We have seen some other motorhomes that do setup and use levelers. Are we asking for trouble if we don't get levelers? If we do what would be the best to get for a Class C?
Thanks
Mike Cunningham

Graduated drive on style
If you have an ammonia type fridge it needs to be fairly level or it will plug up eventually and have to have the coils replaced

Big foot levelers. I had installed in lower Michigan.

Levelers depend on the type of chassis your motor home is built on. The MB Sprinters can not have weld on levelers. I had The Equalizer Hydraulic Leveler System installed on my 2018 Thor Siesta 24SS. They bolt onto the frame. Camping World sells the HWH System which also bolts on the frame as well as Big Foot Systems for the Sprinter Chassis. They are not a cheap addition. They are great for a few of reasons: 1. No more leaning forward when parked and while sleeping, 2. No rocking as you walk around inside, 3. The refrigerator operates at it optimum when level, 4. You can use them to assist with raising the chassis to work under or change a tire(also utilize a secondary bottle jack for safety). My MH came with rear electric stabilizers that helped with the rocking motion inside while walking around but now it is rock solid when I set it up at a site.

Drive on ramps will do the job cheaply.
Leveling jacks will do the job quickly.
The choice is yours.

Leveling jacks also keep you clean, dry, and never frustrated due to a re-do and declaring good enough. 😂

We used ramps the first year of owning our class C. Easy to use but not real precise.
Last fall we drove up to Michigan and had Big Foot levelers installed. I now sit in the entry steps and level with button pushes. Installed a Levelmate Pro and I can usually be within 1/2” to 1/4” of level.

I use them more for stability. I'm not the skinniest person so when I move around in the middle of the night, the wife and kids can for sure feel it. When I don't have the jacks out, it makes me dizzy walking around inside

That depends completely on what you're buying.
There are fully automatic systems that take over as soon as you push that "magic button".
Then there are the systems that you use to manually level the rig.

You can do a decent job with three stepped leveling ramps. Often rustic campsites slope downwards to a creek, lake or ??? and they may have side to side out of level. Three stepped ramps placed under the front wheels and one on the low side in back will get you level. It might take 2-3 tries backing up with more or less under the wheel when you start to get it reasonably level.
Dometic says 6 degrees fore and aft and 3 degrees side to side tolerance for their absorption fridges. I can easily get under a degree with stepped ramp levelers.
They will cost less than $100.

I've been manually leveling with wood planks, then graduated to plastic lego-tiles and finally with the Beech Lane Camper Leveling chocks. IMO they are all a lot of work to get just right. I've actually got my Class C in right now getting Bigfoot Fully Automatic (Quad pumps) installed. Not cheap $3700 + installation ~$1000 but FOR ME it's well worth it. I just want to get to my campsite, level, open the slide and awning and crack open a beer.

Most Class C RVs don't have a lot of exterior storage space available.
Those ramps will chew that space up quickly!

Manual levellers
Hi everyone,
New to the forum. Had a Class C and sold it. Liked the manual levellers, fast and easy to use, just crank it down. Sold the class C without the levellers and tried to install it on my Vegas.
Unfortunately the rear generator does not let me to install it on the Vegas. Anyone want the set? $250 and it,s yours.

Well I often relevel after the autoleveler lifts wheels off the ground. I can always get it level lower to the ground.
Plus I sometimes put a motorcycle rack on the back. Then I run the front levelers only all the way to load and unload.
