Mystery Wire from AESS - No Clue

While troublesooting Water Heater. I opened the AESS (Automatic Energy Select Switch) under the bed. It has Three wires.
- Feed Hot wire
- Primary
- Secondary - Goes to water heater.
Problem - I can't trace the primary wire to anything? It is a stranded wire wrapped in a black sheath. HELP.

So what AC load doesn't have power in the MH? The AESS gives voltage to both loads until one draws high current than the AESS removes voltage from the other load. So if the primary is disconnected, that load should not be "On".

Typically a microwave or washing machine is the shared load with a water heater.

I expected it to feed the microwave. That is not the case. When I plug a 110v cord to the wires, nothing happens. Apparently it was mis-wired from the factory. I'm really curious what it feeds?

mystery solved.
The wire in question powered the fridge. It was suppose to power Microwave.
