New RV. A/C problem

My husband and I are new owners of a Thor Ace 29.3 motor coach. We are taking it out for the first time this weekend and cannot get the air conditioning to come on, the generator is powered up and running. We must be missing something....help!

Propose you plug an AC appliance, e.g., portable heater, into one of your M/H electrical outlets while on genny power. Does it work? If not your converter may be off; if so, turn on. If the heater works, check the A/C fuse. These are quick easy things. Failing the above, time to troubleshoot with an RV Handbook. Good luck.

I have a Hurricane that does this often and it is the breaker located in the generator. If you have the Onan 5500 pull the front cover plate and in the upper left corner (at least that is where mine is located) you will find a 30 amp and a 20 amp switch. My 20 amp switch is the one that trips often. Hope this helps!
