Looking for input on whether I should get vroom slides on my big slide on my Omni 2022 xg32? Haven’t really had any significant problems, and don’t want any! I always run them all the way in and out…and hold for 5 sec. Done quite a bit of research and am concerned with the lack of quality on the schwintek design. Thanks so much.

IMHO if you haven't experienced any issues at all, why spend the $5k+?
Slide issues usually manifest with warning signs, very rarely is it a sudden catastrophic failure.

My opinion (that's all this is, take it for what you paid for it) is that the Schwintek system is overtaxed to operate large (full length) slides. It may be (just a guess) that there is insufficient support of the weight of the slide box. Ideally there should be multiple rollers under the slide that support 100% of the weight and then the slide mechanism only has to move the slide box in/out. With inadequate support the slide system gets overwhelmed trying to support some of the weight.

Examine the slide tracks (easily visible when the slide is extended). If you see any evidence of wear in the rack (the convoluted section the pinion gear meshes with) then start thinking of service or replacement.

Schwintek seems to advise not to lubricate the slides. But many RV repair videos advise doing so. Do some research and make your own decision.

Many thousands of RVs have slides that are not vroom. If you are not having trouble, why bother with the expense. My slide is 6 years old and show no damage on any of the 6 tracks. If I ever have problems that can not be easily addressed, then a slide actuating replacement may be in order. But not until then.

I'd be really surprised how it wasn't 1:1000

Thanks for your wisdom. What usually happens if I put new tires on my vehicle, seems like I go trade it off right after I put new tires on!
