Lesson learned.
How did we lose a washer? Probably when cleaning it out at the end of the process. Now I check every time and have extra washers just in case.

Good point: keep an eye on that washer!

Not that a new sewer end for the pipe ever had the pipe pop the "oh s*&^t" off! I now use Dicor under all new replacement ends. Once set up, well.... always!

Flushing Toilet System

A pretty wise old guy many years ago gave me this secret that I still use. After you drain and flush the system when you head home dump the left over ice from either a cooler or ice maker and add chemicals. On the trip home the ice sloshes around while it melts. Wala, a cleaned tank with the side walls scrubbed and a fresh scene to go.

Hmmm, twenty years of RV'ing, never had any issues or problems with dumping the tanks. I always dumped before they got completely full. As long as you have a flush out valve, on the black tank, I always did, just start dumping, and run fresh water in through the flush out valve while dumping for a few minutes. In twenty years rarely had any odor, never had any spill, but I was very careful to make sure connections were tight and to change out dump hoses every so often, before they deteriorated to the point they created any problem.

No nightmares

I guess I was lucky my RV came with a Lippert Waste Master hose set up. Never had any problems and absolutely no learning curve in using it. A bit pricy but it really works.
