NO CABLE TV hookup on THOR 30.4

I have had issues with hooking up the external TV cable on my THOR 30.4. Brand new out of the box, the TV wont hook up to external cable. Yes, i shut off the switch and switched from the Winegard antenna to cable.

After 2 weeks of frustration. I started trouble shooting and started at the external union at the side of the RV. I disconnected the white cable end from the union and found the inner core wire broken at the tephlon shield point.

I have spliced on a new end, and conducted an OHMS check. All good from the union up to the panel in the camper. i will test at the next campsite. I would insert a picture here, but i dont know how....

You mentioned turning off the booster, switching tv setting from OTA to cable, then with the cable connected did you "scan the channels" from the tv settings menu?
This must be done every time you switch inputs or change locations whether connected to cable or OTA.

Yes, the issue was a broken wire on the coax cable. I dont think i have ever seen the center filament broken in all my years.

on finding your problem, the conductor probably didn't break it was cut. go ahead ask cavie or me how we know

Very interesting. I looked in the union on the camper and didnt see any element of a broken wire in there. In other words, if the piece broke off, the remaining piece of center cable would be lodged in the union? Right.

Are you suggesting Sabotage? Where is Agent 99?

nothing dramatic just poor quality control
