Norcold frig not cooling.

Once Cliff removed the frig, he could see how poorly the insulation panels had been taped or sealed. Then when he removed the coils section the moisture level was very high in the foam. There were gaps in the caulking needed to enclose the unit completely.
We have to wait till Tue. To call Norcold, but I hate to think of all the warranty problems caused by lack of quality control at the plant.
How sad to spend so much on a coach to have spend so much on repair and down time.Click image for larger version

Sorry to hear your Freedom Elite (year?) coach is having fridge issues. It looks like you previously posted this issue (might be better to just reply to your own post if you want to provide ongoing updates on this same issue; provides the one document for the forum). Your DH will be an expert on tearing apart Propane/AC Norcold fridges.

Any information you can provide on the cooling problems/history you had with the fridge and why you decided to tear it all apart. This might help other readers to learn what to look for when trouble shooting their own frdge issues. Thanks for posting your progress towards a cooler solution.

We bought it new in 2016 late Aug. We have done extensive upgrades and changes to have it meet our needs. We have over 40k miles on the 22Fe, and plan on driving it till it can't be fixed anymore. A refrigerator should last 10 yrs. At least, so when the freezer was working, but the refrigerator was not maintaining its cooling levels. We added an interior fan, but it was still not performing correctly. So after Cliff did extensive research, he believed it was a saturation issue. After removing the coils section he noticed large quantity of moisture in the foam. He has that drying out for the next few days while he dries out the box with a 40watt lightbulb. A lot of moisture has already seeped out in the refrigerator box. We will take new photos once he feels it is dry.
I didn't want to spend $1000 to replace a refrigerator in a now 35k rv.
Next we will take out the oven and sink and replace the counter top with a smaller sink and the oven with a drawer. Then we can get rid of the drop down counter so he can move my switches higher.
If you search for rv freezer operating correctly refrigerator not cooling well.

Ref is completely dried out and sealed correctly. Never use thermal mastic to seal the cooling unit into the icebox, because it transfers heat and cold causing moisture problems. (I assume)
Now to reinstall the frig and test it out before the next trip.
After 3 hours, the freezer is -2 and the frig is down to 47. We will order a new burner to install later.
$$saved. If you can't repair things yourself, you are at the mercy of others.

It is working really well. 36 degrees in the box and -6 in the freezer. This is just set on 3 out of 5. Happy campers.
