We bought the camper out of storage several weeks ago. The Norcold N7LX refrigerator started just fine on shore power. We have driven the camper since to have a the rear tail lights replaced. While waiting for the parts we took the camper home to start preparing for the season. The refrigerator does not start now giving us code indicating "no dc", meaning, we think, low voltage. (Manual does hot show code for "no DC." We are not sure what that might mean, help please.
The fridge needs DC to power its controls. So maybe on shore power the converter was supplying the DC even though the use/store or battery disconnect switch was off. Now that there is no shore power the fridge is getting no DC from the batteries. Turn the switch on and see what happens.
If it was already on, check the condition of your batteries. They may have died while in storage.
If the batteries are ok, maybe the propane is off. But I don't think that would give the no DC error.
Thanks for your reply. See the attached picture which shows a "no" code.
We have 20 amp SP on, the battery disconnect is on, and we still get the error code. Just to make sure, we tested the inhouse battery and get 13 amps and also tested the fuse. We also started the camper and still get same error code.
I see the "no" in the second picture but it looks like "nc" in the first picture which doesn't correspond to anything in the code table on page 39 of the service manual I attached for you. Do you have an audible alarm?
I think you meant 13 VOLTS, not amps.
Anything else in the MH not working? Lights?, Microwave?, Air Conditioner?, Water Heater?
When not on shore power does the light inside the refrigerator go on? If so, you're getting DC power to the fridge. Something similar happened to me. I had power to the light but the fridge wouldn't turn on. It turned out moths had built a nest behind the control panel housing the on/off switch and shorted it out. Remove some paneling and search the circuitry, front and back, for bugs.
The light is not on, so no power to fridge. A check in the panel from outside does not show anything out of the ordinary. We took the camper in to a local shop last night. Will update when we know what he finds.
Turns out a bad circuit board is the problem and is being replaced. Are we allowed to mention vendors on these forums?
Thanks for all the good advice and suggestions.
If you've had a good experience (or not so good experience) with a product or service provider you can certainly mention them here. We talk about things like Safe-T-Plus, Sumo Springs, and Dinosaur boards all the time.
It's posts that sole purpose is to promote a particular product (like SPAM) that aren't allowed. It's pretty easy to tell the difference.
