ODB port
I have a 2022 Axis on a 2021 E chassis. I just went for a state inspection an the guy said he couldn't connect to the car diagnostics. Like the port wasn't working or something all different wires were spliced into it, etc. Is there another dedicated port? Anyone else have this issue?

Sounds like a Ford issue, perhaps you should contact Ford, it is under warranty.

Hopefully he was looking at the right port as nothing should be spliced into the OBDII port; but it may not be working due to a blown fuse that supplies power to the port. If it's not that simple I'd be calling Thor for resolution.

If it was a Class C E350 I think you would be right, but Ford will probably point the fickle finger of fate at Thor, especially if anything is spliced into the wiring harness.

Thor does tap into the OBDII Port..... at least they did on my 2020 Magnitude on the F-550.
Thor created a wiring harness that plugs into the stock Ford OBDII port. Then the end of the Thor wiring harness has another OBDII port at the end of it that can be used for diagnostics just like the stock Ford port.
I have not sent time to determine what Thor is tapping into. Best I can tell is they are only tapping into one or two wires that go to the OBDII port. I suspect it might be to power something that has the power supplied when the ignition key is turned to ACC RUN.
In any case, I would follow the wires behind the OBDII port and see if they actually lead to the stock Ford OBDII port. If it does, unplug Thor's wiring hardness and try to read the ECM / Codes.
I have a sophisticated code reader and my Thor supplied OBDII port does work.
*EDIT*
I went out and took some pictures of my coach's setup.
The first picture is the Thor added OBDII port with their wiring harness. This is to the right side under the dash.
The second picture is the Ford stock ODBII port with the Thor wiring harness plug into removed and hanging down below the Ford port. This is to the left side under the dash.
I found this all out when I added the Start-X aftermarket remote start to my coach last winter.

Oh ok... This makes sense. Thanks for looking at your set up with pics. I'm going to go under and see if i can find the actual ford odb port. That's gotta be the reason why the port can't communicate to the emissions machine.

It would not surprise me if there is a bad crimp / wire in the Thor harness if you have the same type of setup that I have. It would explain why your shop could not get any diagnostics information from the ECU. If they remove the Thor harness from the Ford stock OBDII port, they will have success there.

2022 Thor axis ODB
Hi,
My Axis is 2 years old. My OBD port does not link to any garage reader or hand-held reader. Does anyone know how to directly plug into the ford OBD port?

I don't know your coach wiring but I "believe" on my 2013 ACE the OBD port 12vdc comes from the same fuse that powers the cigar lighter outlets in the dash.....which are fed from a 20A maxi fuse (position 22) in the Ford Power Distribution Box (which is mounted on the firewall near the engine air filter box). If your coach is wired similarly then working cigar outlets should also see 12vdc on the OBD port.......s Judge says, maybe a wiring fault or bad connection?
