Pulsating hot water

We took the rig for her shakedown last weekend. When using the water pump, the bathroom shower and sink pulsates warm to cool. Kinda weird, you can hear the pump run, then stop, then run, etc... This goes back and forth and along with that the water gets cool then warm. Has anyone experienced this yet? Any ideas on how to correct this?

Make sure the bypass valve at the water heater is closed. This is the valve that goes between the hot and cold water lines (should only be open for winterizing).

HW bypass is closed. Plenty of hot water. It just pulsates in the bathroom. Now the kitchen sink, stays an even temperature. The sink has a single valve that you turn to adjust the water temperature

You are always going to get some change in pressure while using the stock water pump. They are adjustable, but are usually set for 30 psi on and 50 psi off. The expensive fix is to install a variable speed water pump. The cheep fix is to install an accumulator in the output line from the water pump. The longer pipe run to for the hot water to the faucet is responsible for the temper change at the mixing valve. Low water pressure and the water heater restriction (piping) means less hot water and more cold water.

This is kind of wbat I was thinking, except the water temp pulsates warm to cool, the pressure is fine The kitchen sink is a single valve and the temp stays steady. My old rig didn't do this. Most Thor owners have this issue with similar models?

You can also add an accumulator tank for RVs, helps a lot, I have virtually zero pulsation from my faucets! While you're at it add the silencing kit also, I think you'll be happy with the results. Both the accumulator and silencing kit can be ordered from Amazon are easy to install.

Adding an accumulator to our water pump eliminated the annoying pulse. Easy DIY fix.

The silencing kit consists of two hoses to replace the hard plastic and isolate the vibrations. Basically they are the same kind of hose that hooks up your home toilet and sinks plus a couple of adapters. Here is a picture:

Here are before and after pictures of my pump. I made my own hoses because I had the parts. You can see the accumulator tank in the middle.

Kev I don't know where your water pump will be located, ours is under the dinette seat. I added a simple divider under the seat which gives me a good extra storage place.
