Repairing Dog House Heat Shield (insulation)

Hi. We need to repair the insulation underneath the engine dog house cover in our 2001 Windsport. Flipped it over to inspect it as part of our major Reno we are doing and some of it is falling down. Anyone know of the type of high heat adhesive that is typically used? It would need to tolerate high heat. Will the aluminum sticky back tape used in floor vents work for sealing the edges? Or is there something better? Went to AutoZone and didn't find anything. Thanks in advance for any ideas!

A search on this forum will lead to many people upgrading the doghouse insulation with Dynamat as well as other solutions.

You might want to spray on an adhesive first to help hold it in place.

Maybe use 3M-80 or 3M-90 spray adhesive. Do a search - either of those would likely work well. When I removed mine to install the Dynamat sound deadening, it looks like Ford used 3M-80 or similar. It was just attached in spots, and came off fairly easily without destroying it.

I applied the adhesive-backed Dynamat, then re-used the factory foil-backed heat insulation. It REALLY helped deaden the noise.
