Radio Not Working

I have a 2016 Thor Four Winds, after sitting for a month I went to start the unit and noticed the radio in the dash would not come on ? Everything in the RV is working but the radio, I checked all the fuses under the hood and found nothing wrong or blown. I cannot get it to turn on with RV running, shore power or generator. What am I missing, is the power fed from another source other than under the hood ?

Yes, it's fed from the house batteries. So turn your USE/STORE switch to USE or your BATTERY DISCONNECT SWITCH to ON and see if it works (assumming your batteries are good.

If not, there is a tiny hole on the front panel with a reset switch in it. Put the appropriate sized paperclip in the hole and reset it for about 30 seconds.

Thanks Ted, I knew it sounded to easy for my luck. Yes the coach batteries are on, I did find the little hole at the top left of the radio. I put a paper clip in it a couple times, never felt anything like a reset button but still held it in a couple of times with no luck. I hate to pull this dash all apart.

Similar thing happened to me. Our dog hit the use/store switch. No radio or backup camera for a leg of a trip. Hit the switch to use and all was well.

Find your use, store relay (the one that clicks when you operate the switch). On the main battery feed from the coach batteries their is a keep alive wire with an in-line fuse that supplies the radios. See if it’s blown.

Your story is my story. The Jensen JRV215N in our A.C.E. was discovered dead under identical circumstances as you describe and is now in the process of being replaced with a Jensen JRV9000R from eTrailer.com. There seems to be no repair opportunity for Jensen products only replacement. I assume that a component in the radio succumbed to a power surge when I turned on the batteries. The 9000R has a 15amp line fuse where the 215N did not so I’m hoping that this won’t recur ... I hope.

Are you able to remove the radio from the dash? That way you could check if power is going to the radio by disconnecting the wiring harness plug and sticking your voltmeter probe into the hot wire port on the harness, usually red or black. On my rig the radio has 4 small holes on the front panel, one on each corner. If you put a stiff wire in the holes it unhooks a clip and the radio slides out for repairs or replacement. There is a thread on this site. If the power and ground connections show good then the radio is defective.

Look up Scosche DIN tool kit on Amazon. $4.95 with free shipping with Amazon prime. You can find them a Best Buy for a price and ebay. Any car stereo shop should have them as well. I have three sets. Many years ago when car and truck radios were easy to replace, I purchased new ones to replace the OEM. The removal tools came with the new radios every time.

Not sure if this will help or not same thing happened to mine just a different model driver side front under the hood there's a fuse beside a solenoid right hand side front open it up it's a 30 amp fuse it feeds the Dash. Mine was blown fix the radio.
