Outside LED light strip coming down

My outside LED light strip is coming down about 6 feet of it so far. Did anyone else have this issue and what did you use to reatach?

Was it held up there with some sort of adhesive tape?
( Or a bead of adhesive along the back side?)
Any sort of construction adhesive should work just fine...
Good luck!

Those strips have an adhesive backing that sticks to the groove in the awning. Probably just lost its stickum ability and causing it to drop down. Should be able to use some good glue adhesive to stick it back up. Might want to use some alcohol rub to clean the groove good.

Be careful what type of adhesive you use. Those LED strips have a reputation for kicking the bucket and needing replacement. Use an adhesive that's not permanent.

On my Axis the LED strip around one headlight started coming off and I glued it back in place with Goop, a kind of super heavy duty rubber cement, and it has been good for 2 years now. I know you can buy Goop at Lowe's and probably a lot of other places.

The plastic LED track, sewn into the Carefree Latitude awning material, on my Thor Synergy SD24 is twisting thus allowing the LED light strip to fall out. Thor nor Carefree are willing to correct this under warranty since I have had the unit 18 months. Anyone else had a similar issue? I could stick it back with silicone sealant.

Speaking of LED strips: Does anyone else have theirs on the outside edge of the awning; rather than mounted on the Coach?

The LEDs on our Alante are on the roller that rolls the awning up, so far no problems.

Awning

This track is stitched up on the awning up next to the coach. The awning retracts by rolling up on the outside roller. Attached is a picture of the awning out and the lights on. Note the curves in the track.

Mine are on the outside edge - on awning roller... Mod I added just before they started appearing as standard on new rigs...
Power wire runs along awning arms - plug in at both ends (12v dc plugin at coach end - adding mini controller at the roller connecting power to LED) once the awning is out. The current controller would probably roll up with the awning - the original was larger.. But no means for the wire to stay plugged in.

Along the rig is prolly easier - and allows use when the awning is rolled up, but it has still worked well for us.

Mine never came down but I am on the second replacement - one from Thor and one on my own from Amazon. Two weeks after I replaced the replacement from Thor it lost a section of lights about 8 inches long. Totally heartbreaking.

I too have the strip on the arm at the end of the awning--only usable when the awning is extended (but I have a porch light, too). Mine never came down, but many of the lights quit working after a few years. I ordered a replacement from AMZN and now it's back in business. The replacement has more lights, too, for a brighter display. Not too difficult to replace.

Awning and awning lights

We thought our awning lights were pulling away on the coach side if the awning and had it checked out by our dealer and they contacted Thor on our behalf and they replaced the awning. Have not picked it up from dealer yet but will update once we see completed work/replacement

Looks just like ours

The same thing happens to ours. I get the step ladder out every couple months, and put em back in the track.
I haven't figured out how to secure them yet.

They were sewen into the awning. Ended up pulling them down completely and orderd new lights and track (3M self stick) from RECPRO this time I went with blue instead of the OEM white ones.

Yes I do. It is guided thru the channel in the roller. There is also a separate channel if you would like to add a screen.

Same thing happened to my ‘19 Vegas 25.6 after almost 24 months. Stitching completely failed and all but 6’ dropped. I pulled off the rest. Stitching was rotten and the plastic casing of the light strip warped too badly to attempt reattaching. Now awning has stitch jokes that leak water down the inside. Called Thor and was referred to Carefree. On hold awaiting answer for 30 minutes. Went from being 22 in line per the recording to number 19. Gave up. Anyone gave a suggestion for a good replacement for the awning light??
