Outside TV Removal
Wondering if anyone knows how to remove the outside television on a 2017 Hurricane 29M. Want to do a few connection changes, and don't want to break something else doing it.

You do know the tv pulls out of the cabinet. Its held in place by two magnets. Just give it a tug. It can then swivel around in either direction.

Actually i just learned about the magnets a month or so ago. Mike thompsons rv walk though when i bought the mh wasnt very good.
Search for the thread i started almost a year ago jerrys hurricane mods lots of 29m owners have really helped make the thread a good read for mods, lots of useful facts, and lots of nonsense Warning it will probably make you spend lots of money but it will make your mh experience much more enjoyable.

I have done a quick view of your thread, and found it very informative. I am sure I will be referring to it quite frequently. Also sure I will be spending a lot of money.
I, too, purchased from Mike Thompson, Colton location.

Join the thread and ask away with questions. Someone will know the answer. Dino and Dave are great guys and very knowledgeable as are the others on the thread.

I removed the tv today. 4 screws to the bracket. Hdmi, cable, and power cord runs into the mh through a hole on the upper left side. The power cord plugs into an outlet under the bathroom sink. The outlet is behind the cabinet above the lower shelf on the right. To see it youll need a flashlight and get on your knees.
Good luck with your project

Does the bracket have a make and model on it? I'm looking to get one of those for my rig, it's currently hard mounted. Do you by chance know the depth of your tv space?

Its 4 3/4 deep. There are no marking, serial number, or model number on the bracket. My suggestion is call thor and ask them.

You can probably buy a swivel bracket at someplace like Best Buy that will work, get one to fit a 32" tv. Get a couple of quarter sized magnets and fasten them to the swivel with some JB Weld to hold the swivel closed when you're not using it.

Thanks for all the useful information. I should be able to get a look at mine today.
I am also wondering how you torque the nuts on the axle u-bolt back to specs when installing the Safe T Plus? Or for that matter, what are they supposed to be torqued to.

I Googled the torque specs and found 260 lbs. We only had a 150 lb torque wrench. So once we got the 150 my buddy just torqued more. Im sure we were close.
We then checked the other u bolts because he had work done to the springs a year ago. All were less than 150 and most likely around 50. So all were tightened

The bracket in the picture, was that a stiff magnet? is that standard on the hurricanes? I've been trying to get around mine to find out where a lot of screws are coming from, I just can;t get my arms back around the unit.

I need to replace a tv. My old ones will not receive digital ant., or cable. When shopping I find many are smart TVs that have firestick or others. I don't think that would help when on an ant. What would be correct wording to get smart tv that doesn't rely on added items like firestick ?

Do you use Internet in your RV? If not, get any new TV, smart or not, and just use the antenna/cable connection.
If you do use Internet in your RV get a ROKU TV. Besides being able to use the internet Apps it will provide you with a cable-like guide for your over the air (OTA) channels. We have two in our RV.

Smart TV
It's called a smart TV because it connects to WiFi and allows you to watch TV via the internet and streaming services (watching TV via WiFi/internet is called streaming). The antenna isn't part of the "smart" process. Some internet TV services require subscriptions. There are some free ones.
I use a Roku smart TV at home because Roku is preloaded with many of the services I like to access and it is sometimes easier to use than a plain smart TV.
I have Samsung smart TV's in the RV and they work great. I have to confess to having a Roku attachment for them to most easily access my favorite services.
So you can get digital TV thru cable and thru your antenna AND thru a WiFi internet connection with a smart TV. As a newbie to smart TV's it might be easier to get with the "program" with a Roku smart TV.
Good Luck
