Outter Front Cap Bracket - Miramar

Tonight my wife pointed out that the bracket that covers the seal between the front cap and the house of the coach has popped off.

Upon closer inspection, the bracket had so much tension on it that it pulled the screw in half.

I've taken pictures of the coach over the past few months, and now notice this bracket was loose in the past as well. The plus side, I'm not seeing any leaks inside the coach. I lowered the front bunk and inspected as much as I could but I don't see anything.

With that said, anyone else have experience with this? My rig is still under warranty and I'm racking up a few items to have the dealership look at but just didn't want to keep driving back after every detail.

Yes we had the exact same situation, I siliconed the bracket down and put a much stronger screw in its place. There were no leaks at all.

Hey fellow Miramar owner!

Ok I tried to push the bracket down, it's no slouch, I feel like I would need to take a blow torch to it to soften it up a bit before screwing it back down. It literally pulled the screw in half. The other half is still stuck in the wall.

Yep, the exact same thing, half the screw broke off and remained in the roof, I had to drill a new hole and put a larger wood screw in, The larger screw pulled the bracket down in place. Then I took black shiny model paint and touched up the screw and the area around it, can't tell the difference. I made sure that there was enough silicone to hold the bracket down and all around the screws to avoid leaks

A lot of Thor screws fail from corrosion. I recommend stainless steel screws for replacement.

This is a 2017. This particular screw did not suffer from corrosion.

On the other hand, all the screws on my slide tracks and my tail lights are already showing signs of rust.

I noticed on the 2018 models, they remedied this issue.

Sounds like a good plan. Thank you!

Disregard, I was able to get to it.

I am a first time RVer, and these stories are very disparaging.
