Weird Generator Problem

The generator red light on the panel is on, but I’m getting no reaction if I try to prime or start it. I suspect the 100 amp breaker but have no desire to climb under the rig to find it until the present monsoon ends. The part I don’t understand is why that light is staying on. And I don’t have the Oman manual with me.

Any ideas?

If the breaker is tripped I don't think the light would be on. More likely a wet/corroded plug to the remote control panel.

I've never looked, but I have to assume there's a start button on the generator itself....

Yes there is a start button on the gen. There are breakers there also and an 100 amp fuse in the battery compartment

I hope I’m not jinxing myself, but I just looked and the red light is out. 😀

Not going to try starting it until tomorrow. We came through some heavy rain, so I suspect the wet connection idea may very well be right.

I’ll update after I try starting it in the morning.

Well, problem solved. Genny cranks and starts normally, and the red light remains off. Now I just need to find whatever got wet and seal it better.

Thanks for the input, folks!
