Overhead bunk velcros straps?

Like any of us we have that overhead over the cab bunk. We have the safety net which clicks in place using seatbelt like adapters. However one of the beds has Velcrostraps. What the heck do you do with them? Are they just like handles to allow you to move the mattress like thing around? I couldn't find any story about what the intention was. They are black and double sided and there is 2 on the 1 mattress thingey.

I noticed that too but didn't think too much about them and tucked them into the gap. My initial thought is they might be used to restrain the bunk ladder from sliding around while under way by tying it to the heavy mattress platform.

Our ladder stays put shoved way up in front, buried behind the tote of kid toys and (lately) pile of Halloween decorations but I imagine for safety reasons the ladder should be secured (and I shouldn't have all that crap sitting up there!).

That's what I've done with them. Couldn't think of anything else they could be used for.
