Parking MH on dirt

What material can be used under tires while coach is parked on dirt.

Aren't most campgrounds made with dirt. What could possibly be the problem?

What materials did you consider before asking here and what factors lead you to exclude the obvious choices?

Would you rather park on concrete? Maybe wood? Plastic blocks? My RVs have always been parked on grass or dirt except now I have a bed of mulch where I park my coach.

I considered using rubber mats under the tires.

The 2019 motorhome is parked under a cover. I am just concerned about protecting the tires.
We usually travel about every 6 weeks.

As long as the footing is stable and solid: I don't think that anything else matters.

I don’t know where, but I think I recall reading somewhere that it’s a “good idea” to keep them off the ground got longer term storage. I’m planning on getting 2 by 10s for under the tires and levelers. That’ll raise everything equally and get the tires off the gravel I have in my driveway.

I don’t know if it’s needed, but it certainly won’t hurt.

You're right: it can't hurt to have them there...

Concrete paver blocks. Been using them for about 10 years.

My Outlaw was parked in an open field; when Camping World stored it for me...
It did it: but it sure didn't dig it!
The mud on it gave you the impression that they had been out "bogging" with it!

Dirt, grass and unsealed concrete will accelerate dry rot in tires if left for extended periods. Use wood slats, old rubber mud flaps from big trucks or some type of plastic. Moisture from the ground underneath the coach will also evaporate upward and accelerate rust on the bottom side if the area doesn't have good drainage.

I do put these under my leveling jacks. We use them as a bit of a moisture barrier, and to protect the asphalt surface that we park on.

I bought some stall mats at Tractor Supply and cut them into squares. Use them under my jacks when parked. Use them under my tires when in storage on my asphalt driveway.

Sometime ago, I read that it is good to separate the tires from the ground to prevent moisture from being pulled from the tires. Don't know how valid that is, but can't hurt. Our mh is housed with rubber mats between the tires and concrete.

Certainly can’t hurt. But I don’t do it. Just too lazy, I guess. I plan on replacing my tires every 5 years regardless of their apparent condition and I’m of the thought that tires live on the ground in all of my other vehicles so these don’t get any special treatment. Then again, I’ve never had to buy tires because I seem to trade coaches too often. So clearly my thinking on the whole matter is askew!

I use these under my tires & the yellow leveler blocks to keep the jacks from digging into my pad of decomposed granite.

At that price go to Tractor Supply and get yourself a stall mat and cut a bunch of those pads for your needs.

I believe they also have a smaller one for $24 ($20 on sale).
