Pd31 forward slide motor access

Hi. Just back from a month long sojourn out west. Our pd31 has an entire wall slide and We began having problems retracting it. Upon inspection I noticed there is metal flange on the outside of the rv that runs from bottom to top of the slide. It appears that this will give me access to the forward slide motor. The screws at the top of the flange nearest to the motor have been forced out. I am guessing that the motor has come loose and is rotating against this flange. I removed the screws holding the flange in place, but it is resisting my efforts to remove it. Has anyone replaced the forward slide motor on a pd31 or similar unit? Also, any ideas on how to safely remove the flange so I can inspect the motor? Thanks for any help offered

Slide motors are usually replaced from the inside after removing 1 screw on the outside, not the 1 you have taken out.
