Pleasantly Surprised
After reading many of the problems encountered by several owners I went down to where we store our Vegas 24.1 and checked ours. We are getting ready to leave on Sunday for a 25 day trip from Tampa to DE, PA, MD, and VA to visit friends and family.
Here are some of the things I checked and was surprised at what I found:
1 - A-Pillar insulation -- was unable to check if there is any insulation in the A-pillars but was pleasantly surprised to find the factory had sealed the open bottoms with expanding foam insulation.
2 - Chassis battery access -- read the horror stories about having to access the chassis battery by going through the dash where the foldout computer table is located. My battery is mounted pretty far forward on the passenger side under the hood. It is right behind the two air ducts that go to the heater/AC. There is no problem with access to service the water or remove the battery.
3 - Sealed holes -- I read quite a few comments from folks who found places where wire bundles or hoses penetrating the interior were never sealed. Every place I looked -- storage compartments, under beds, behind the dash -- every place there was a penetration the factory used expanding foam to seal the holes.
