Polishing black bumper, Sprinter cab

Hi all,
How can I shine up the black bumper on the front of my Sprinter cab? It’s some kind of plastic and has gone kind of dull and grayish.

Look on youtube for a plastic refinishing video. I saw one where a person used a torch and the black plastic was shining when finished.

You might try some 303 Aerospace Protectant. I use that on my plastic Jeep Wrangler fender flares, among other things, for a UV barrier. Although once the plastic starts turning milky, it might take more drastic restoration.

Worth a try, and if anything, using it after you've got the black back, the 303 will keep it looking new.

Youtube… why didn’t I think of that?

Now that I’m looking, there are loads of products that are aimed at polishing up black plastic trim. The things you learn! I’ll pass on the blowtorch, though. With my luck the whole thing would go up in one spectacular fireball.

Thanks to both of you!

I have been using a product for about 7 years. it is called RE Nu Pro exterior plastic restoration for black bumpers. It is fairly easy to apply. If you read and apply as directed it lasts for 6 to 8 months. Most of these type of products only last a couple of weeks. I got the 4 OZ kit and have done it many times and there still is enough in the bottle to do it a couole of more times. I do the front bumper and mine has panels on the door.
Amazon and Ebay are out of stock but I found another dealer on line that still advertises it. Autosparty.
