We are amazed but not amused by all the things you say and do.
Are you bored and looking for an argument?
I am not blaming my wife. Just stating a fact.
We had to be out of our sold house 2 days after I left the hospital.
Some things cannot be stopped mid stride.
At least read and comprehend what I wrote before making inane comments

Ask yourself this. Did you ask if their was a warranty, even a 24 hour one? Did any of the 30 or so papers that you had to sign say warranty on them? I bet one of them stated "as is where is". So how is that them taking advantage of you.

Don't get me wrong, I feel for your position and I get that it's a hard pill to swallow when you have made a mistake. I truly get that and I have been in your position more than once in my life. Learn from the experience.

In hindsight, you probably should have hired an inspector to review the coach prior to purchase.

People like to play the blame game, as you can see in this thread. Some make good points and I agree that there is always room for improvement, be it at Thor or at Lazydays. However, the buck stops with the purchaser. They are the final deciding link in the chain. They are the ones who agreed to the purchase and all of its parameters.

At this point though, like others have said, fix the issues or sell it and move on.

If you do decide to fix it, plenty of people on here, myself included, will be happy to help in any way we can.

Good luck either way.

I agree. He can list as urgent what needs fixing so we can help.

At NO time did I say I was been taken advantage of.
1) They did the Pdi, which was done by their professionals!
2) My whole complaint was from poor workmanship and quality.
3) Who tests radios and tv’s when doing a pick up where an appointment for a set time was by THEM!
Surely when you are rushed for time(by them) you tend to concentrate on the bigger issues like Aircon, generators etc.
4) As my wife said to me. “The guy doing the paperwork etc. did not appear very clued up on the process”!
5) My wife complained about the vehicle air conditioning while driving back to VA to them by phone. Where promises were made to get back to us.
Crickets for days till WE called back!
Please note that the phone never stopped ringing in their angst to make the sale when we showed an interest. (I suppose greed for a sale takes presidencies over after sales service.)
6) The radio in the bedroom hidden next to the bed had no manuals. It still does not work after I searched online for said manuals.
7) How does what in effect is buying a road going Vehicle leave me without at least a 1 to 7 day warranty?
Do I suppose the lemon law does not apply to RV’s?
8) Did you or did you not read that I was in hospital for emergency surgery after the trigger was pulled on the purchase of this vehicle that made it impossible for me to be there. As well as the sale of our house and us having to be vacated over the same period of 5 days?
9) Yes a lot of things moved against us.
But finding out there is NO warranty of any kind and that the Pdi was crap AND that the vehicle is of such poor quality(unlike shown on many videos watched on YouTube and read online)

Let’s hear how You would have handled this?
Please note! My original moan was about poor quality.

I would sell and get something else.
Motor home specialist under our checking process checked everything or we would not have signed

I hope you have recovered from your surgery. Health is more important than a mh

To answer a couple of your questions and I'm not trying to blame you for anything or attack you but

1. PDI is your responsibility. When I got my 29m I got a rushed pdi at tge dealer. Was told 30 minutes I laughed and said I'll need at least 2 hours so told them to get more people lined up. 3 hours later I finished and tge general manager was there helping fix a couple small things

If they don't allow for proper pdi walk away

3. See above. You control pdi

5. You were in a very difficult time. No argument there but rush/need to buy was your problem. Maybe get a hotel or beg fa.ily/neighbor for help. Everyone will have a different answer on this one

Lastly the warranty issue was stated somewhere in the paperwork. I'm sure they never said anything and it sounds like you never asked. Just take this as a lesson learned. Used at dealer or private party is usually no warranty

As for poor quality I'd say it all depends on the individual mh. I had mine for 5 years with really no problems at all. I was lucky to get a well built one. Some mh are just nightmares you never know but problems should be expected. Your research should have prepared you for that

As others have said list individual problems and you will get help here in resolving them. Some great people here with tons of knowledge. Disregard the negative people (lots of negativity and arguing these days) and seek help from the willing

Good luck
Jerry

The PDI is the most important part of the buying process. I know that your Better-Half was put in an uncomfortable position in the process; but for future reference: the PDI should not be rushed. It should take as long as it takes; and not a moment less. EVERY system needs to be checked; that protects everybody involved in the process.
(Ours took four and a-half hours...)
By the way: I hope that you are fully recovered...

I have yet to see anything regarding the year of the motor home or the mileage at purchase. Those two items have a lot of bearing on the situation. This was asked and not answered. Also, what model motorhome?

We also asked for a list of items needing attention so we could group-grope fix them.

The Federal Government mandates that every vehicle offered for sale include an FTC Buyer's Guide for the consumer.

So either the dealer complied and the OP/Wife ignored, or the dealer did not comply and is in violation of federal law.

And I gotta say: when you have things going on in your life like emergency surgery and closing on a house, picking up a MH falls to the bottom of the priority list. Absolutely no reason that event could not have been pushed to the right as far as you needed it to be. OP just had their priorities confused and now has buyers remorse when thinking with a less frantic mind.

So the offer to help you has been made (multiple times): either accept and move on to fixing/repairing to enjoy your purchase, sell it if you just can't get past the anger, or keep and be happy staying angry.

I have made MUCH bigger mistakes in my lifetime... don't even ask!

But here you are with a motorhome, and believe it or not, your decision(s) at this point are simpler than you think:

1) Put the MH up for sale. You may take a loss in $, but don't beat yourself up... just take it as a learning experience. If you ever decide to purchase another one - you know EXACTLY what to do/avoid.

2) Fix it up - do repairs to your satisfaction. It WILL take time and effort and additional $$$. As others agree, I'm CERTAIN the motorhome you purchased can be salvaged and made perfect for you .

I was clueless on the first PDI I ever did. Only later did I even know what a PDI was!! I just happened to get lucky - everything that didn't work then, and stuff I found later - was EASY fixes.

SO... talk it over. If you decide to keep it, sit down and make a detailed list of things that need fixed/repaired. Submit that list HERE. You will then have started your journey... like EVERYONE ELSE who has bought a motorhome!

Cheers... and HAPPY TRAVELS!!

Not required for vehicles with GVWR of 8500 or more or a curb weight of 6000 or more which will eliminate most motorhomes.

Now let’s answer them.
I lived in NVa. Had to go do the pick up in Knoxville.
I went into emergency surgery.
Wife had to go do pick up.
We were assured everything was tip top according to Lazydays PDi.
After being in this RV for about 2 weeks you start noticing things.
Paperboard panels,
Obvious panel nail heads.
Loose and skew electrical fittings.
Grab handles in bathroom loose.
Skew cupboard doors.
broken opening mechanism on aft extractor fan(apparently this is not a unique phenomena??)
Skew paneling
Terrible framing fitting.
Etc. etc. etc.
NOT something you notice on a casual pdi inspection day and after watching hours of video and sales pitches for these RV’s

If this is the standard of Canadian workmanship???
I am done with Canadian products.

And to the gentleman with the diving in the pool analogy?

Please don’t make excuses for them and their below chinese standard finishing

There are a lot of good things about this RV, but quality of workmanship and materials is not one of them.
Nice to know we should avoid lazy days. They are right down the road from us.

Rvchecklist is the app.
287+boxes for pdi.
Hundreds more for preflight and storage.
Perfectly customizable by adding your own labeled boxes and subtracting ones you wont use.

Lazydays has been buying up independent dealers all over the country. Let's hope some of the staff and mgmt at those dealerships stay on.
