Porch Light keeps blowing bulbs

Every time I turn on my Chateau's porch light it blows the bulb. I think some moisture may have got in the socket and corroded. Any ideas before I buy another light?

What type bulb are you replacing?
Incandescent or led

What's the number on the bulb?
1156, 3156, wedge base (T10), etc.

When you say "blows the bulb" do you mean the bulb burns out, or blows up? Sorry if this question is confusing but water hitting a hot bulb could cause it to blow up?

Sounds like you have a corroded socket that is shorting out the bulb. Look in the bulb socket for corrosion, if it's there try cleaning with sandpaper, electric contact cleaner, and check the voltage with a meter. Next time you replace the bulb try an led. If the led goes out you probably need a new light.

it burns the bulb out and I believe it was a 3157 ...RV under cover right now but it is that type

It's probably a 3156 (single filament).
