Positive post on chassis battery turns into positive reading

2006 four winds magellan will not start, because new battery positive post will not allow the starter wire will cause the screwed clamp will melt. Help thanks

no power is going to the starter because i cant connect the starter cable to the positive side of the battery. the three wires are connect to the pole but when i try to connect the cable that goes up to the house panel box Sparks.

Because the house batteries you replaced are connected backwards?

It's really hard to help you when you don't give the whole story and don't answer question specifically asked of you to clarify your situation. We are not mind readers and our crystal balls are all foggy.

Sparks are normal under normal circumstances.
Call a mobile repair place.
If you've never seen a positive cable spark, you won't know the difference between a circuit closing and a faulted polarity. You're possibly in over your head.

Watch the pro carefully so you'll know what to do next time.

IDK, I was taught way back in my High School auto shop class the positive terminal is hooked up first then the negative. The reasoning was and should still be that you don't accidently short the positive post out to the car/trucks body with the wrench, ratchet or battery pliers you are using when hooking up the positive.

X2 Same logic applies with jumper cables.
