Power bunk over cab won't go down

2018 ACE 30.3 Haven't even used the front power bunk yet, only saw it demonstrated at the dealership. Now I need it the driver side actuator doesn't move so the bunk will not come down. Anyone had and fixed this?

Right side motor starts to go but no left side so it binds up with the cabinetry.

As far as I can tell there are no safety pins in this power bunk over the driver area.

Try raising it first. If if tries to move up, hold the button on for a few seconds after it gets all the way up. Then try to lower

Bunk

We have been having a hell of a time with ours in our 2017 Axis. On a few occasion it has gone down and we were worried we wouldn't be able to get it back up. And at times we had one motor come on and not the other causing it to go up unevenly. On each occasion we ultimately got it back but it was enough of an issue we took it back in to be looked at. It is still at the dealer having a few things done.

Here is what i found in my own tooling around with it. On one occasion I looked at the control head and found it to be flashing indicating there is a wiring short. On the back of the up and down switch are 2 sets of terminals one are in use the other is not. Most recently while experiencing an issue I switched from one set of terminals to the other and voila it seemed to completely resolve the issue, stupid as it sounds but it makes me question the reliability of the switches.

Needless to say I told all this to the service department and am waiting for the warranty work to be done. When I pick it up I will inquire what they ultimately found.,

It is a good idea to have the coach level before raising or lowering the bunk.

Also, one side was giving me trouble so I removed the covers to find loose vinyl was getting caught in the motor teeth, once I eliminated the excess fabric it worked like a charm. BTW: center the motors like the slide out wait 3-5 secs after lifting or lowering.

Whoa. Never seen one that didn’t have safety pins on both sides!

I had a problem with mine on the drivers side, it was getting stuck in one position and wouldn't go back down. Found out that the seat belt metal part on the shoulder that clips into the bottom floor strap was getting stuck in the bed frame. It seems that it shouldn't be able to do this but it did, "Murphy's Law". Maybe this will help!

Windsport

Had the same problem, when it started down it hit the safety belt retractor and stopped. Adjusted retractor and all works fine

Ok a tech from Thor sent me the appropriate wiring diagram showing the bunk motors. Tech told me it was probably a loose connection. I was not confident how to get to the motor do I found a mobile tech who knew how and as soon as he go a meter probe in the crimp splice it started working!! 20 cents of crimp splices and success!!

Mine was wired backwards. My up was actually down and the down was actually up. Took me a bit to figure it out. I unscrewed and pulled the panel out and swapped the wires. Boom....... problem solved. Mine also raised an lowered unevenly, I did 3-4 complete all the way down and all the way up cycles and that seemed to resolved the issues.
