Smile 50 amp breaker

I had a similar problem, like others have said it's a DC problem. for me it was the 50 amp breaker had popped. Hard to find but resetting it made it all work.

Could be the breaker, or other items as 16ACE27 and Bob and Judge have mentioned, and others.

Good luck.

I have the same occurence from time to time. I found when you are plugged in or not, jog the "use/store switch once, leaving it in the "use" position, and your 12 vdc system should now operate ok. I think the solid state switching gets confused, or out of sync. This has worked for me for a number of years on my 2015 Vegas 24.1.

Power/battery issue

Hello all,

My second foray in RVing. I picked up a 2011 Thor ACE 201 this summer.

Two weeks ago I was on shore power all weekend. No issues.

Now my relay for the coach battery won't turn on when not attached to SP.

I am referring to the salesman switch inside the door.

It clicks but the red light indicating it is "on" doesnt come on.

Both Coach batteries test at 12.8 at rest.

Fuse breaker in battery compartment is not tripped.

I am thinkin the relay is bad but can't find it.

Is this the same thing as the solenoid?

Any thoughts woul dbe helpful.

Thank you,

The "Salesman" switch is a momentary contact switch that controls a latching relay. The latching relay does not need power to remain in either one of its latched positions (connected/disconnected).

The fact that you hear the "clunk" when operating the "Salesman switch" indicates everything is working as designed except either the contacts in the latching relay are not making contact, or the 50 amp DC breaker in your battery compartment in not making good connection.

I would trip and reset the 50 amp DC breaker first to see if that resolves the issue (not the 100 amp one - that goes to the generator and leveling system).

If not, look behind your power distribution center for the latching relay. In my coach it is a black box that looks nothing like a relay - not sure what type your coach has. But like all large relays it will have two main posts with thick cables attached ad two control posts, one with an inline 5 amp fuse in the wire.

I just had almost the same problem make sure that the battery shutoff switch is on when you plug into shore power turn on a light to make sure. If not it will not charge your batterys and 12 volt power will be off when you unplug

We had the 50 amp in breaker pop, had to reset it. Took a while to figure that out. It's next to our battery relay on our Quantum LF31.

You can see the small black reset button on top of that small breaker.Click image for larger version

Be sure you distinguish between the 12 DC system and the 240 volt AC system when you speak of the 50 amp breaker.
