Wow. Not only have I never seen a campsite with a meter, I have never even heard of it until your post. I am 100% certain, that we would never stay at a campsite that said it was going to be metered
To take it a step further, we tend to pass on campsites / parks where it is obvious that people just live there. This another reason we rarely EVER reserve campsites in advance unless they are State Parks or similar. I can't tell you how many times we saw a RV park on the route and passed by on actual trip only to go OMG, we would never stay there. On the other hand we have stayed at the some of the nicest off the map places. I will never forget driving through small town call Memphis, Texas. We pulled in a nice looking restaurant for dinner. My wife went in and ordered while I found a good spot to park. Food was good and live football game was on in the RV. So my wife asked if we could spend the night and they not only said yes, gave us a note in the event authorities came by. I assume they must have really liked her tip
So for us we boondocked. AGS was set and quiet time was off. In my RV, now that I have T Mobile Home Internet, wherever I park my RV is my home. When I travel; I only worry about the below and in order.
1. Gas
2. Overfilling gray tank
3. Where is nearest Wal Mart or similar for overnight. This no longer applies because we have Wi-Fi 24/7 now, we can stop almost anywhere.
It has been impossible short of willful neglect to overfill our black tank or run out of propane.
