Pulled the batteries yesterday.

In anticipation of storing our RV in 2 weeks at the Dealership: I pulled the batteries, and gave the battery box a wipe-down.
Two batteries side by side: four terminals.
(left to right: 1,2,3,4...)
The cables were numbered by the terminal they hook to, and then bundled together.
Everything is color-coded. Red to positive, and Blue to ground.
terminal 1 is the hot lead into the coach, and has a cable that also bridges it over to #3.
terminal 2 is the ground to coach, and has a bridge to 4. This one has a cut-off switch attached to it.
terminal 3 is the hot bridge to 1
terminal 4 is the ground and bridge to 2
Overall dimensions of the battery box are 7" x 28.5", so it can definitely take a larger pair of batteries.

Good for you Bob. Sad to send it away for the duration, I’ll bet. We’re going to try to get another short trip to a nearby state park this week. A little forest bathing is good for the soul. Be well.

Bob man, you should post this in the lithium/charge controller thread. This was the info I was looking for when I posed the request

you need the width to know if you can go 4 wide instead of 2 unless it's 7" wide, then 4 will not work for 12v but may for 6v.

Just 7"...
Icould easily go 2.5" taller.

If your battery cage is 9.5", taller = 9. Don't use that last 1/2 inch. You'll need it. Trust me. Back off for a second and let me look around; unless you've already done that. There may be some 6v you can wire parallel/series that will get the equipment through the night and possibly the next. Do you have an onboard battery monitor?

If I correctly read it, your usable space is 7W x 28.3L x 9H. Correct?

Tiffin is offering a "Drop-in lithium solution" for 2021. I have asked them for information about it.

Once I have some info about it: I'll report it here. I'm sure that it could easily cross over the Brand barrier.

I just got off the phone with David Miles of Tiffin, and the lithium battery pack has approximately 40% more capacity than the OEM setup.
It comes with a 2000 watt inverter.
You need to make some adjustments to the settings on the charger and any solar charge controller that you have, and the fuse panel will need some tinkering so that you can bring more items power; when you're running on just batteries.
No mention of cost (yet!)

I got deeper into "storage mode" today...
I pulled the solar battery charger off of the chassis battery, and rigged it up for putting a maintenance charge into the coach batteries.
I put it just outside my garage door, and found a safe way to route the wiring to the batteries.
This afternoon: the controller was showing 13.8 volts!

Nice. Throw a battery tender on the coach battery while in the garage and get lithium for the wife in case you run out of sun

I have talked to several who are considering Lithium batteries but they have all gotten cold feet after getting a price quote, I looked at them for my 24 volt trolling motor on my boat and I would need 2 at $1,500.00 each, the lead/acid battery I now use are $100.00 each and last about 5 years, Lithium claim 10 years, has any one made the change?

I honestly figure on moving up to a pair of AGM 31s.
(From the 27s...)

Sorry. I paid 1k/ea for Battle Born. Not sure what the 1.5k is attached to. Still in all, if that's to steep it's too steep and will leave it there. I've seen them in action and only thought they're better suited for his application. I've been wrong before because his application includes his wallet, as did mine.

There's a correction I can't make. I meant chassis, not coach..

His application is not a 'nice to have', it's a must or he turns tail and heads home as fast as he can get there. There's a back story to my feedback.

Attached the performance observation in AGM/FLA as a reminder. AGM is just a 'low maintenance' alternative to FLA.
