If plugged into SP and the battery disconnect switch is closed (meaning current will flow through it) and the BIM is wired correctly and working, the converter will keep both the house and chassis batteries charged.

If the disconnect switch is OPEN, neither house nor chassis batteries will be charged. If you have an indicating light near your battery disconnect switch, it DOES NOT indicate the status of the disconnect if plugged into SP. It will be lite regardless of the actual status of the battery disconnect.

Does the shore power charges the chassis battery?
If not, then is it safe to use a battery charger and maintainer?
and if so, what type of chassis battery does it have, wet cell, gel, AGM, Lithium?

I got a NOCO Genius 5 charger and I have to choose a battery type. I couldn't find anything on the maintenance manual.
Thanks for the help!!
Look under the steps and you should see them. It'll be obvious if you know anything about batteries. In all likelihood unless you paid for an upgrade, they are FLA.

Why would the BIM look like it is 20 years old? What environment is it kept in? Also, why is one lug still on the BIM?

Kurt could not get the contacts off or screws so it cut wires and put new contacts on..

Besides it sits down exposed to the weather and all road debris, rain dirt, etc, thrown at it. Not protected at all. I presume it's under the steps in the battery compartment.

Thanks a lot, I'm going to check it out.

Thanks a lot! I always store it with the disconnect switch open, so I'm going to close it, to see if it charges the chassis battery. It is a 2021, so if equipped, it should work. Thanks!!
