Question Motorhome and electric or gas bike

we have a thor vegas class a. Does anyone know of a small gas or electric motorcycle that my wife and I can hook to the hitch that is not too heavy to get around? Also is there an attachment that can go in the hitch where a small ramp comes down in order to push the motorcycle onto it?

I am looking at this for an ebike. Rad Rovers weigh about 75 lbs so they don't work on a normal bike rack.

The 2 bike racks get expensive
https://www.etrailer.com/RV-and-Camp...ks/HR87FR.html

Modifying a cargo rack would be a more cost effective and it would be pretty easy to get a ramp for it. If I can find the post from another thread I direct you that way.

Good luck.

Do you mean separate bikes for 2 people?

The biggest question has to be: what is your intended usage of the bike?
Campground use only; or will you be out on the road with it?

(That's a REALLY nice-looking Suzuki!!)

We take a motorcycle and bike

Having gone through a similar thought process, we have a Suzuki Burgman 200 on the hitch and a tandem bicycle that fits inside if we take the motorcycle, or on the hitch if we don’t. The Suzuki with a rear carrying case can take two people and 4-5 bags of groceries. It can store two helmets under the seat. It’s perfect for the little trips when we don’t want to be in all the bicycle gear, and handles highways just fine. It weighs around 375lbs dry, but then you also need a solid rack which adds another 70 lbs or so. And while I miss the real motorcycle, it’s a lot of fun too.

I like the Sezuki Van Van 200, small light weight, fat tires,, big seat and then get a rack that mounts to your receiver hitch. Yamaha has a TW200 much the same, i have not gotten one yet but still thinking about it.

Depends also on your intended usage. Motorcycles are very limited where they can go, peddle assist bikes have alot more options and in most areas go on regular bike paths than can other type of ebikes. Then again some ebikes are so small and dinky they are more toys than bikes. .

FWIW we’ve enjoyed having a pair of Tomos mopeds along on many trips. They only go about 25mph but will go 100 miles on a tank of gas and are easy too ride. About 110 lbs so DW and I can load and unload them. Typically we either tow a Jeep Wrangler or carry these but we probably could carry these in the back of the Jeep too.

Scooter

I have a Vegas 24.1 and carry a Suzuki Burgman 200 on the back. Weight is in the 3 - 4 lb category if i recall. My rack is good for 500. I have put on 25000 miles and never had a problem. It also provide ample storage under the seat and I have top box for extra storage. We can ride 2 up at 60 mph all day (not that we want to). Good luck.

I purchased the Harbor Freight Bike rack and a Piaggio Liberty scooter. All weights are below hitch limits and the bike performs well 2-up.

Two ebikes work great for us...easy on/off, fast enough, range enough, quiet, bike path friendly...
