Radio ant. replacement

Was wondering if anyone has replaced their radio ant. with a compatible or can recommend a better ant. Mine has been attacked by the FL sun I suppose, not that it was a good ant. originally.
Thanks

Replaced the broken one on our rig two years ago with a standard stubby (12" or so). No substantial improvement in dash radio reception - but definitely no loss either. Check your local auto parts store or search Amazon for "stubby universal antenna" and take your pick.

A "universal" antenna will come with the adapter that will allow you screw it onto the OEM base. The universal I got from Amazon had the adapters but I didn't need to use any of them.

Something like this should work:

Yep. If the description of "universal" doesn't immediately fit your connection or have adapters to do so - send or take it back. Just don't get ambitious and get one so long that it whips and breaks in the wind. 12 to 18" is plenty for a mounting already 12' off the ground. Any reception problems after that are on the radio - not the antenna. (are you listening, Axxerra?)

I just had to replace mine for similar reasons ... I went with this one & just swapped the top assembly at the swivel. I think its the factory OEM for the antenna anyway.

Shark Fin radio antenna on Axis - Vegas?

Curious, has anyone replaced the standard Axis / Vegas radio antenna with a “shark-fin” antenna. I’m thinking it would make it a little easier to remove and install the cover. I think they are made to connect to and cover the antenna stub and glue down to the roof?
