Water Pump - Loud

Recently purchased a 2015 Vegas 24.1 with 13,000 miles on it. My Water Pump is making a loud quick knocking noise. It is working just fine. Any help in quieting would be much appreciated. Thanks so much

open up the area under the passenger side rear bed
it should hinge upwards

then run your pump and look at what is making the noise.

if it's the plastic pipes knocking against the wall, that can be adjusted and corrected

however, if the noise is coming from inside the pump, then the diaphram is probably shot.

you would then have three options:
1) replace the pump (under $60 on Amazon)
2) repair the pump (parts are available on Amazon for under $30)
3) do both so that you have a back-up pump when needed

SurFlo sells a quieting kit. It can help. Others have used pipe insulation around the pipes going to and coming from the pump. Lastly you can mount the pump on a rubber anti-fatigue mat such as sold by tractor Supply or Harbor Freight.

If it's a knocking noise, as I had, loud, all I did was add a accumulator, for about $40.00 and not only did my hammering go away, it was ½ the noise it use to be (the pump).

Was able to insulate the water lines leading to and from the water pump except for in the bathroom and that is where the noise is coming from now. Not perfect but at least it is a little quieter! Just no access to the water lines in the bathroom.
