Rain water awing and motorhome side

Anyone know how to stop rain water from dripping down the back of the awing and down the side of MH.

Since the top of the coach has an arch, one-half of the rain water will come off the right-side of a level coach. Since the patio awning's quick connect tube blocks the normal water flow, it will come of the front or rear of the quick connect tube. Only something to divert the water flow will help (stick-on gutter, Dicor lap sealant channel).

Or don’t worry about it. Rainwater on the outside of an RV won’t hurt anything.

Mine started dripping where you are talking about and I found that there is a seam that runs along the awning. I used tent seam sealant on the top and under side of the awning and it fixed my problem.

Is bringing the awning in an option? If I know it is going to rain, I bring my awning and slide in. If I get caught with unexpected rain, I will leave the slide out, unless there are high winds, but my awning comes in if there is any kind of wind or rain, wet or not.

My other unusual perspective #2 is because my RV is constantly waxed, water running down the side is non issue as watching the water beads run down would give us something to look at if we wanted to sit out under the awning in the rain

Observation:

Interesting how you LED lights under the awning are next to the RV wall. My LED light rollout with a tube and lights are on opposite of RV, you can extend/retract to have the lights point straight down, straight up or any angle you want.

When I first read your post I misread and thought you said "Mine started dripping when you are talking about it and I found that there is a seam that runs along the awning. I used tent seam sealant on the top and under side of the awning and it fixed my problem"

I was like wow how convenient and what a quick fix

I agree: It's when it gets on the INSIDE of the rig that you need to worry!

Our awning lights were sewn into the awning and began to pull away from awning creating tears which allowed water to come threw the tears. We took the awning lights off the awning (they just pulled right off) and replaced with multi-colored lights (cost $20 at Walmart) that are attached to the motorhome (with tape). We then got upon the roof and taped the awning all the way across and no more leaks. The new lights have a remote which allows for many different colors and modes. Hope this helps.

Is there anything in that manual about the use for protection from high winds or tornados?

Rain water awing and motorhome side

I have the exact same issue and I went up to the roof with a ladder with the awning rolled but slightly out about 6 inches so you can see the top of the awning, there is a track that should be sealed and mine was not.

Dometic told me that also but they couldn't answer why my sun shade would hold water like a bucket. I told them it was easy to demo if they came to my door and stood on my steps

Yeah... Don't try it!
We don't even let our awning get wet. It gets retracted before it catches any moisture, and gets a chance to grow mildew.
