Rapid Camp not charging

I have a Rapid Camp controller that was working fine until the battery died. I plug in to a charger and nothing happens. Any help out there?

How old is the system? Have you verified the charger and USB cable are good?

This is a 2017 Thor Windsport. Charger and cord are working fine.

There was recently a thread here about someone having to change the batteries in one of these remote systems: I don't remember if it was Rapid Camp or not (or how old the remote was) but the batteries were not "User Replaceable" so he had to replace, non-replaceable batteries and was successful.

Great information! I’ll give it a try since I have nothing to lose. I’ve seen the $300 replacement remote and that’s ridiculous.

It’s not hard to do. That was my thread by the way. You’ll need a small torx screwdriver, a plastic trim tool and a soldering iron. If you have a multimeter that is helpful also. The battery is double sided taped to the back of the remote and the circuit board. Use the trim tool to pry it open carefully and then separate the battery from the case.
I opened my battery pack to see how many cells were in there. I don’t advise it since mine was leaking. I snipped the leads off of the little circuit board and discarded the battery.
Amazon had a small drone battery that looked identical. $7 if you can believe it. Cut off the small white connector and strip both wires about an 1/8”. Solder to the board using the red to red, black to black wiring method. Tape with some electrical tape and try to get it all back together. I was surprised that mine actually charged as well. Good luck.

Do you have the link to the amazon product for that battery by chance?

After searching for a bit I think I might have found it. Is this it?

Thanks for the reply. I was able to find a replacement battery on Amazon for about $10. It was a little bigger in size, but the same voltage and amperage. I used new double sided tape and soldered the wires to fit. Everything works like a charm!

We bought a 2015 Challenger 37LX and had the same issue. I found a guy on EBAY who charges $100 to replace them and ships it back to you. Took about a week and works awesome.
