Schwintek mechanism maintenance on a Sprinter Class C
We have a Thor Synergy TT24 with the single slide and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to lubricate the interior part of the Schwintek mechanism closest to the bathroom wall. I have viewed the various YouTube videos but I have yet to find one that divulges the "secret" on how to access that part since there is no way I can see to even get to the seal without removing the trim and even then it still doesn't seem possible. If there's something I am missing please guide me through the process.
Thanks!
Ed L.

no, there's not...
our bedroom slide, at the rear, is the same way... the access to the slide is VERY limited by the cabinets. you 'could' remove the trim, but it's likely that using the outside access is enough in the mean time for general spray/maintenance.

Turnerfam,
Thank you for the reply on this. We really don't use the slide that often but it still needs to be taken care of. Now for the opportunity to use this thing.

I don't think it's that big of a deal - in 2 1/2 years of use, many hundreds of in/outs of the slides, I've only sprayed lubricant on them once.

I sent an e-mail to Schwintek about a year ago asking the same question in relation to my Axis. The assured me that lubing it from the outside was sufficient. I try to do it about every three months, more often if I am using it a lot.

Regular lubrication from the outside has worked for the past 4+years. Be sure to use a silicone spray & NOT I repeat NOT WD40, in fact unless you have rusty bolts to remove don't use WD40 anywhere on your rv, the silicone spray will work just as well & it won't swell rubber & dirt doesn't stick to it. As you can tell not a fan of WD40!!

Actually, Schwintek is very specific on what Lube you should use - Power Lube with PTFE on their slide mechanisms. Not that easy to find, Camping World, for example does not have it in their store.

You can get the Power Lube with PTFE from Amazon.

Saw the same video and ordered from Amazon. WD40 was amazing when it first came out and has its applications but silicones and Teflon type chemicals have really evolved.
