Tmps

I am considering buying a tmps (Eez brand) but I have no idea of how I would get the sensors on the rear dual tires of my Thor Freedom Elite 22fe. Hell I can barely reach the valve stems thru the rim. I am not even sure I can take a decent tire pressure.

Not sure if yo saw this thread, but we are talking about those duallies over in it. Looks like there is some concern with the TPMS and valve extenders though.

Get some “dually valves”. These will put both inside and outside valves on the outside. Mine cost $110 on line and $100 to install a local tire shop. A bit spendy but solves all of the problems.

Both of my rear dually's are inside the rim. Where do I get the new valves and are they specific to a particular rim etc?

There are really only two choices, either install valve stem extensions or have a tire shop remove you rear duals and install the longer stems turned correctly.

I know there are some that claim the extensions tend to leak, but then there are others that swear by them.

Do an online search for dually valves. I got mine from a place called “Your Tire Shop” on line. There is a lot of information there to help you choose the correct kit. The valve for the outside wheel turns about 120 degrees so the valve ends facing out in the center of one of the openings. The one for the inside wheel is straight but like 8 inches long. It ends in the center of one of the outside wheels openings as well and there is a rubber insert in the opening to support the end of the long stem. Of course you have to remove the wheel and tire to replace the valves. Mine cost $110 for the valves and $100 to remove and remount the tires at a local tire shop. The only downside I can see is that it limits your tire rotation options to switching sides for the back wheels. Does not seem like much of a downside in our case as we probably will replace the tires before they wear out anyway. I hope someone comes up with an internal TPMS sender like cars have by the time I need new tires. My TireMinder system does not have that option. Good luck.

Are there any problems balancing the wheels with those sensors?
